Ienaga

Ienaga (イエナガ) is the supporting and antagonist of Utawarerumono: Lost Flag. He is the chief priest of Orishiro's cult who also governs Karaza and arbiters.

Appearance[]

Personality[]

Serious and bitter, he doesn't trust an outsider. He is royal and devote to Orishiro. He is seen to make a lot of cruel decision but despite this, he is actually a honorable and reasonable man, Despite having a lot dirty tactic up to his sleeve (claimed to use as a last resort) he never actually go through with it regardless how much he hate Akuta. He also doesn't tolerate the corruption inside the cult.

Ienaga while can be strict, he genuinely care for Minagi and Kotama who he had been taking care since they were young. He also has no problem assisting Akuta if his plan could bring a better result.

In the past, when he is still young, Ienaga was much more weak-willed and is always pushed around by his brother and others. He is shown to be fond of his decreased mother who always have his back when the other don't. However once he become a cheif priest, his desired to make Karaza begin a better place and to serve Orishiro made him become a strong-willed man and fears by his underling as he is today.

Due to his position as well as his no mercy personality, he had made a lot enemies that more often tried to assassinate him.

Background[]

One of the three son of the owlo of Giei nation, due to his weak-will nature, no one ever taken him seriously not even his father or brother.

Tadanaga, his older brother is suppose to be the next chief priest and bring Ienaga along to the Orishiro's chamber on the day his brother come to accept his position. When Orishiro asked Ienaga if he had any wish. Ienaga remembrance fondly of his mother which cause Orishiro to tell him to sleep on her lap, Orishiro left not long after but this cause Tadanaga to be furious as they become a laughing stock and he deems Ienaga to commit a seppuku to remove their shame, Orishiro however return to the room and mistake Tadanaga's wish so she slashed his stomach, killing him and other people in the room but stop at Ienaga because she already granted his wish. Orishiro then casually mention to let's Ienaga be the new chief priest since without the position, everyone would be in a trouble.

Since that day, Iegena has been devote his life to served Orishiro, seeing her as his light.

Orishiro - Ienaga is royal and devoted his life to Orishiro, even there are times he doesn't agree with her cruelty toward her daughters or innocent people, he remains royal to her.

Akuta - He despise Akuta since their first meeting however overtime he come to see him as an equal and worthy opponent.

Minagi - He is very strict toward Minagi but he also care for her well-begin.

Kotama - Like with Minagi, he is strict with her but also care for her well-begin.

Magne Signe - He had known her since he is still new as a chief priest. She had given an advice and took care of him when he was hurt, although the girl claimed that it's more of "Give and Take" relationship for her convenience in the future. Even after become much serious as a person, he remain gratitude of her, not only she get a special treatment compare to other Proxeed, she is also can get away for calling him "Naga-kun".

Abilities & Equipment[]

Swordmanship - Ienaga is proved to be strong fighter, he had train himself non-stop ever since he become a chief priest.
Unnamed Relic - A syringe that contain a special drug that make his himukami inside him go haywire. It's the same type of drug that Shirayuki once used. He use it during his final showdown with Akuta.

Trivia[]

Ienaga has a vast knowledge of Onvitaikayan than any normal decoy could have known, including that they are born to love and obey them by their instinct, refers them as a curse that had been put on them. But because most of his knowledge come from Proxeed (Which most are actually in control by Tsukuyomi) along with Raven, an actual Onvitaikayan, cause him to miscalculated the situation.
