Raven (烏) is one of the main character in Utawarerumono: Lost Flag. He is former human that transferred his conscious into a three-legs raven after losing his body. A genius narcissistic mad scientist, he used to be one of the scientists who took part in creating proxies.

He has been looking for the Human Spawn ever since he travel with the protagonist group.

Appearance[]

He has an appearance of a black raven with a three-legs.

When he was still a human, he is bald and wearing a lab coat.

Personality[]

A former mad scientist. He's narcissistic, serious as well as stubborn and arrogant man. Like Akuta, he is the type who never give up on his goal. But due to his mad scientist attitudes, he would rather spend his time on his project than his son, this cause him to had a stain relationship with him. Despite this, he has a caring side, as he would spares time to his son calling whenever he need something and the worker proxies in his facilities are stated to lives in more healthy environment and have more freedom than other facilities. His personality can be overall sum up as a man who value the knowledge above other things otherwise a decent man.

In the present day, he appeared to mellow out of his old attitude a little. He also shown to be quiet clumsy at times, either form bird body or his narcissistic genius attitude which more often get him into a trouble. Although he remain helpful and often seen looking after Kotama. He remained silence regarding Akuta's certain past and seem to always have an ulterior motives.

During Akuta's flashback, he implied that he changed into a person he is after his wife past away, her dead is likely effect him to be obsessed in finding the way to enhance the human race.

Abilities & Equipment[]

Master Key - The key to enter many of his labs (or rather a ruins) located in many places, but because he is in a bird body, he is unable to use the key by himself and had to relies on Akuta to open it up for him.
Intelligence - As a former head scientist, he has vast knowledge in a lot of area regarding to history and technology of the past.
Raven Body - His bird body is proved to be useful to the party. He can fly to scout the area or spy in the certain place, his instinct also become sharper. He appears to able to communicated with the Kurukuu (messenger birds) as well.

Relationships[]

Akuta - His biological son. While not exactly having the best father-son relationship, he appears to care for him.

Minagi - More or less a descendant of his creation, he allows her to call him a father much to her delight.

Kotama - Minagi's younger sister who took a liking of him fast and comically getting crush by her hug. He often look after her when he doesn't travel with Akuta's group.

Mizushima - They're appeared to be an acquaintance.

Ienaga - He hate his guts, become even worst after Ienaga kidnapped him so he could use the Master Key to gain control of Tsukuyomi.

Trivia[]

Like other known human survivors, Raven (Garasu) isn't actually his real name.
Although he did created decoys, it's actually just part of his "hobbies". His facility was researching to created a new stronger human race.
In the past he created and designed many of the special type of proxies (refers as Irregular) based on fantasy or myth creatures theme such as Dragon or Phoenix with Minagi and Suzuri begin the descendants of them.
Compared to other surviving human that appeared in the series before him, Raven is the most active among them, not only he directly assist the protagonist, he also providing many information and unanswered question regarding to Onvitaikayan.
Many Marebito whose are Akuta's friends and acquaintances also refer him as Father or Father Raven.
When he became a Tatari, his slime body immediately resolve into a liquid, this likely happened because his soul somehow doesn't get trapped inside it for an unknown reason.
As he was in a bird body, his raven's instinct sometime kick-in, such as when he see an animal corpse he had an urge to eat them in which he had to restrain himself from doing so as he would lost his human dignity if he end up doing that.
A three-legs black raven is also a symbol of Mito's personal spy though it's unknown if two had known each others.
